Brandon Schilter

Born in Galveston, Texas, and raised in Friendswood, Brandon is no stranger to the Gulf Coast. Growing up and working his way to Eagle Scout, he spent many nights under those Gulf Coast stars. He would go on to graduate from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Following graduation, Brandon worked alongside construction professionals in a sales position at a construction equipment rental company. Through this time at Briggs Equipment, Brandon learned essential leadership and communication skills. These skills have proven invaluable in up-front communications and providing sound guidance in daily representation of clients.

Brandon then followed in his father’s footsteps by attending South Texas College of Law and receiving a Juris Doctor. While at South Texas, he participated in mock trial, alternative dispute resolution, and served as Vice President of the Real Estate and Construction Law Society. Additionally, Brandon was an Abraham Watkin’s Mock Trial Finalist and was awarded the competition’s second best overall advocate.

At the Daspit Law Firm, Brandon continuously sharpens his skills and refines his capabilities to provide his clients with the maximum amount of recovery. Moreover, Brandon has an intimate understanding of the dangers faced by those in the offshore profession. His brother, Lenny Schilter, is a graduate of the
Texas A&M Galveston Maritime Academy, where he served as a company commander. He is presently a licensed U.S. Merchant Marine Officer. “With my little brother in the offshore industry, I have been exposed to what is, quite literally, a different world. I have seen the intense work and commitment it takes to be a successful offshore professional. When you are hurt on the job, it doesn’t just affect you. It can hurt your family too. I can think of no greater honor than to stand with those who cannot stand up to the legal system by themselves.”
